Superintendent's May/June Letter
Superintendent's May/June Letter
Cromwell Public Schools
Wednesday, May 01, 2019

As I write this on May 20th we are very busy preparing for end-of-year activities at all of our schools.  Of course, the highlight of the school year in any district is the high school graduation ceremony.  Cromwell High School will hold its sixty-first Commencement exercises for the Class of 2019 on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 6:30PM at Cromwell High School.  There are currently 134 students in the Senior Class.

Our goal is to prepare our students for their future, so that they can be life-long learners.  Whether students choose a four-year or two-year college, technical school, military or the workforce, our responsibility is always to ensure that they are ready and armed with the requisite skills and knowledge to be successful at the next step – whatever that may be.

Cromwell Middle School has scheduled its Promotion Ceremony for 180 grade eight students on Wednesday, June 12th at 10:00AM at the middle school.

The last day of school, Thursday June 13 is a half-day of school.  The first day of the 2019-2020 School Year for students will be Wednesday, August 28, 2019.

On behalf of the Board of Education and the Administration, I want to extend our best wishes for a happy, healthy and safe summer break.

Dr. Thomas Y. McDowell
