Connecticut SAT School Day will be administered to all 11th grade students on Wednesday, March 27th, 2019. The administration of the SAT will help reduce the testing burden and potentially expand opportunities for students to use the state assessment results for college admission purposes as well. It will be important, however, to check with your college choices as to whether or not they require the essay portion of the SAT because this will not be given as part of the state assessment.
Some additional details for the March 27th, 2019 test day:
There are 3 parts to the SAT: Reading, Writing and Language and Mathematics.
- Total testing time will be 3 hours.
- The essay portion of the SAT will not be administered on March 27th.
- Four answer choices and no penalty for guessing.
- 400-1600 score scale.
- In the event of a school delay or cancellation, the testing date will be moved to April.
While the Connecticut school-day SAT state assessment results on March 27th, 2019 can be used for college admission purposes as well, we encourage you to speak with your child’s prospective college and determine if they require the essay portion. If that is the case, speak with your child’s guidance counselor and discuss registering for an additional SAT testing date. In order to take the essay portion of the SAT, all sections of the SAT (Reading, Writing and Language and Mathematics) must be taken together on the same day.
